I always go for the obvious one but if you are looking for additional traffic short term then a sure fire way is to list it for sale. List you blog etc on DNF or digitalpoint and maybe 10 more and you have a big short term traffic hit. If you are sub 100k alexa I would also list your site in sitepoint ( maybe even a feature listing for $40 ) - your traffic should pour in.  Make sure the starting price is low and the reserve is high.
